Brentford 0 - 1 Wrexham

Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Wrexham pulled off an FA Cup shock with victory away to League One Brentford.

Jamie Tolley fired the Dragons ahead with a right-foot volley from the edge of the box.

Wrexham goalkeeper Joslain Mayebi then kept his side in the game with a fine save from Sam Saunders's free-kick.

Nathaniel Knight-Percival almost doubled Wrexham's lead in the second half with an overhead-kick that bounced just wide of the Brentford goal.

Wrexham Forced To Play Two Games At Same Time

Tomorrow will see several bus loads of supporters making the long journey to Brentford to cheer on the reds and hop to see them through to the third round of The Fa Cup for what seems a lifetime ago the last time we reached the 3rd round but Wrexham also have a match in The Welsh Cup at The Racecourse versus Airbus Uk who have refused to change the fixture meaning Wrexham will inevitably field a weakened side against Airbus with the strongest team rightfully playing against Brentford
I can`t believe that the Welsh Fa have not stepped in and sorted this fiasco out because this should never be allowed in this day and age. This is Wrexham`s firs game back in The Welsh Cup for a good few years so you would have though the The Welsh Fa would ave wanted to see a strong Wrexham team in the cup with Swansea and Cardiff refusing to enter the Welsh Cup after being invited to enter into it this season.
I just hope that Airbus are proud of themselves and if they ever need a favour from Wrexham in the future then Wrexham take the same stance as Airbus have done and do them no favours at all. All I hope is that The Welsh Fa dont fine Wrexham for fielding a weakened side which they have no choice in doing so with them also playing in The Fa Cup. Knowing the Welsh Fa I wouldn`t put anything past them.

Wrexham 2 Cambridge 1 Fa Cup Replay Tue 22nd November 2011

In a fairly even first Half it was Cambridge who had the best chance with thier striker less than Town yards out from goal, the ball was crossed Tom him and somehow it sort of rolled up his leg when it seemed impossible to mips.tv.
It wasn't until the introduction of Lee Fowler that Wrexham got on top and with a superb turn And ball to Obeng. on the wing who in turn crossed an inch perfect ball Corky Pogba to head in and exactly same cross gave Danny wright the same goal.
Cambridge pulled a goal back with 7 minutes left. but Wrexham well worth their place in the 2nd round of the Cars Cup

Wrexham. v. Lincoln City Saturday 19th November 2011

Half time at the Racecourse and Wrexham are winning 1-0 thanks to a brilliant goal from Pogba who went inside from the touchline and hit the ball from the edge Of the box, left footed which the keeper couldn't stop from going in at his near post.
Lincoln had plenty Of possession in the first 15 minutes but were never a real threat going forward and Mayebi didnt have a shot to save all through the match. Jay Harris was unlucky to see his shot Chirk the crossbar with the keeper in no mans land as the first half came to a close.
Wrexham were not helped by a referee who constantly chose to ignore the blatant shirt pulling and fouling of Wrexham players to the crowds dissapproval with the ref then surprising everyone when he overruled the linesman to award Wrexham a penalty for deliberate handball And Pogba stepped up and placed Ithell into the keepers right hand corner and Wrexham cruised the rerest of the match running out comdortable 2-0 winners with Pogba named MOM

Wrexham 0 Newport County 0 Saturday 22nd October 2011

Wrexham were held to a goalless draw at home to Newport who had the better chances throughout the match with a one on one in the opening minutes. Apart from a brief 20 minute spell Newport were not put under any constant pressure. The Newport keeper just wasted ttheime throughout the entire match ans the referee let him get away with i. The referee was blowing for every little thing in Newports favour but not Wrexhams. 0-0 probably a fair result.

Gateshead 1 Wrexham 4 Tuesday 4th October 2011

Sorry this report is a bit late but just been really busy. Anyway Wrexham went to top of the league Gateshead and won convincingly with a 4-1 away win and that was without their number one goalkeeper Chris Maxwell who is out injured and midfield playmaker Lee Fowler who is head ans shoulders above any other player in this league and I believe both these players will be joining Dean Saunders at Doncaster come the January transfer window. Anyway back to last nights match and Danny Wrightut Wrexham ahead after only 4 minutes which is how it stayed till anout 8 mins into the 2nd half when Wxm scored a second, not long after Creighton got the third before Gateshead pulled a goal back but Wrexham were not to be denied c Wxm were not to be denied and wrapped it up with a superbly taken penalty from Wrexhams captain Dean Keates.
With Cieslewicz on from the start I always feel Wrexham will win because even if he has a poor game which I have yet to witness the defenders are shit scared of Cieslewicz running at them and more often than not foul him which results in a yellow card so that defender needs to be careful for the rest of the match.

Wrexham 1 Ebbsfleet 0 Saturday 1st October 2011

Wrexham eventually won 1-0 with a controversial penalty in the 75th minute but the first 74 minutes were hardly anything to write home about except the fact that Wrexham were denied not one but two clear penalties and it wasn`t until the introduction of Pogba and Adrian Cieslewicz that Wrexham came to life. Cieslewicz had the beating of their players and after another run into the box he was tackled right by the touchline and seemed to make a meal of it and the referee awarded a penalty perhaps realising he had already made two mistakes by refusing certain penalties in the first half and then complete mayhem as Pogba picked up the ball ready to take the penalty then Speight tried to wrestle the ball from Pogba and then amazingly Dean Keates (Wrexham`s captain) ran from the halfway line and joined in the wrestle the ball away game and the crowd started booing really loudly and it was eventually Speight who put the ball down under a huge amount of pressure and promptly scored one of the best penalties you will ever see as he thumped it into the top right hand corner in front of the kop but it was a shocking moment and having heard Morrell`s interview saying if you are a striker then its good to want to score but that was not good and the lad was under immense pressure to score.
Lastly I would like to dismiss any rumours that Lee Fowler and Chris Maxwell have left for Doncaster. Maxwell was injured and so was Fowler and they were both at the game today.

Wrexham 1 Mansfield Town 3 Tue 27th Sep 2011

Andy Morrell's first home game in charge of Wrexham Fc ended in defest losing 3-1 in a game influenced by a series of shocking decisions by the ref. With less than a minute on the clock Wrexham were attacking inside Mansfield's penalty area the ref blew for a foul to Wrexham sbut unbelievably gave Wrexham an indirect free kick inside the box and not a penalty. The rest of the first half Mansfield's number 10 got away with murder and the ref did nothing but as soon as a Wrexham player committed a foul a yellow card was shown. Wrexham had a decent run of play creating some chances but just couldnt get that decisive shot on goal and around the 38th minute mark Mansfield had a free kick near the touchline about level with the 6 yard box which Maxwell at his near post should have made it his as it was going straight to him at chest height but the ball went straight in at the near post whixh Maxwell was totally at fault for. Maxwell's kicking during the first half was shocking and most of the balls he kicked went straight out and this had a diverse effect on the rest of the team as Mansfield got stronger during the last five minutes of the first half and were unlucjy not to go in two goals up when Wrexham's defence kept backing off and the Mansfield player had a shot from 30 yards that rattled the crossbar with no Wrexham player attempting to close him down. Just before half time the ref booked Jay Harris for handball even though he couldnt see as he was facing the players back but the linesman who had a perfect view didnt even raise his flag.
2nd half Lee Fowler went on a run and scored bottom corner from outside the box and suddenly it was game on but two minutes later Knight Peecival got sent off snd gave away a penalty for pulling their forward back and Mansfield scorrd the sppt kick so Wrexham now had it all to do sown to ten men and 2-1 down but this ironically this led to Wrexhams best passage of play and when Pogba wwnt on a run and crossed it for Speight who was less rrhan a yard out he amazingly put it over the bar. A few minutes later Wrexham denied a clear cut penalty but once again the ref done nothing and in first minute of added time Mansfield broke away and made it 31

Brian Carey is set to end his 20-year association with Wrexham and follow former manager Dean Saunders to Championship side Doncaster Rovers.
Saunders wants his Wrexham number two, who first joined the Racecourse club on loan in 1991, to become his assistant at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Saunders ended his three-year reign as Wrexham boss on Friday when he replaced Sean O'Driscoll as Doncaster manager.
"I'll be bringing in Brian Carey hopefully," said Saunders.
"He was my assistant at Wrexham. I have to get the ship running the way I want it to be run."
Saunders has already employed his former Wrexham fitness coach Mal Purchase and hopes former Republic of Ireland international defender Carey will follow.
"I'm hoping it will be sorted in the next two days," said Saunders.
The 43-year-old former Wrexham captain, who had three loan spells at the club before joining permanently from Leicester in 1996, has been on the club's coaching staff since retiring from playing in July 2005.
Carey has twice taken charge of the North Wales team and even guided them to Football League survival on the final day of the 2007 season.
"It is an opportunity I don't think he can turn down," said Wrexham's temporary manager Andy Morrell.
"So he has gone to speak to them.
"Nothing has been finalised yet but I expect him not to be with Wrexham for too long. He'll be gone soon I'd have thought."
Saunders won his first game as Doncaster manager as the Championship's bottom side beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday.
Morrell now hopes to bring in an assistant to help him at Wrexham in his first managerial role.
"The question has been posed with Brian leaving," said Morrell.
"I've put a few names to them and we'll decide in the next day or two if someone can come and help me.
"Dean took our fitness guy as well so we're three pairs of hands down instead of one."
Wrexham coach Joey Jones, the former Wales and Liverpool defender, and former goalkeeper Michael Oakes are currently assisting Morrell.

WST's Wrexham FC takeover still on, but deadline won't be met

This is what The Daily Post has printed in today`s paper about the takeover of Wrexham Fc .

Wrexham FC's Racecourse Ground
Wrexham FC's Racecourse Ground
THE long-running takeover of Wrexham FC took another step forwards yesterday although tomorrow’s deadline will not be met.
The “sale and purchase” of the club has now “largely been agreed in principle” but there are still a few loose ends that need to be tidied up before the historic deal goes through.
Club owners Geoff Moss and Ian Roberts had wanted it completed by tomorrow and had said they may consider other bidders.
But yesterday the two sides issued a joint statement to clarify the position insisting it was still on.
It said: “Wrexham Football Club and Wrexham Supporters’ Trust are pleased to announce that the sale and purchase agreement (SPA) has largely been agreed in principle, subject to clarification of a small number of points, completion of due diligence and approval by the football authorities.
“The proposed takeover will not be completed by the suggested deadline of Thursday, September 15, as originally proposed by the owners.
“However, both parties would like to reassure supporters that the deal is still very much alive and that they are working as quickly as possible to complete the deal.
“Both parties have identified some small points of clarification, which will hopefully be resolved very soon in a face-to-face meeting.
“Following this meeting it is envisaged that the deal will be concluded and that the requirements of the football authorities will be met and ownership transferred to the WST.
“The owners and the Board of the WST have issued this joint statement as a signal of their intent to supporters and the manager, Dean Saunders to conclude this deal as soon as possible.
“This will then enable Dean, his players and the supporters to focus on winning promotion back to the Football League.”
Recently the WST was given a unanimous mandate by its members to go for the takeover, but it has been a painstakingly slow process.
The delays have also raised a question mark over who will pay players’ wages this month.
It is the responsibility of the current owners to pay the wages.
But after Mr Moss and Mr Roberts saying they would not put any more money into the club, that left players without any wages at the end of last month.
Fans raised thousands of pounds in a matter of days to tide the players over and get the season off to a winning start.

 WST Are A Disgrace

Has anyone noticed how all the threats aimed mainly at Geoff Moss have suddenly stopped with one of the main culprits who wanted to hang him were The WST. In fact The WST have gone very quiet on all fronts, they thought that buying the club would be the answer and thought that they had plenty of money to run it and in the process scared off one potential investor Mr Poole who is worth a small fortune but was never given the opportunity to invest his millios as he was branded a crook, just like everyone else who tried to get involved in buying Wrexham Football Club and whilst holding a private party in the grounds of his mansion several Wrexham supporters who got into the private party then handed out leaflets saying that Mr Poole was a crook and this didn`t go down well as you can imagine. Well several months later The WST are still dragging their feet over their takjeover of the club when if Mr Poole had been left alone, the club would have been sold a long time ago and to someone who has got lots of money unlike The WST who now having read just how much it takes to run the club and just how much Mr Moss has invested into the club, are stalling on the takeover trying to get as much money as possible into the club and also hoping that Wrexham continue doing well and getting good crowds.

I think The WST realise that when the summer comes around and there are no games and no income coming in that they just dont have the cash to pay the players wages throughout the summer.
Another thing that is of grat concern to me is that if The WST ever take charge of the club, then I presume Richard Harris, the supporters trust voice will run the club. How many other clubs has he run as big as Wrexham or is this the first time he has ran a football club.

Lastly if Saunders wants to bring in a new player due to injuries I feel that it will take a meeting to arrange a meeting to vote on whether the trust will let Saunders get the player and by the time all this happens we would have lost the player to another team.

I personally feel that this proposed takeover by The WST if it ever happens will be the worst thing that could happen to Wrexham Fc, as after all it was The WST who said to sell the ground to the university which is an absolute tragedy as we will never ever get that ground back now.

Wrexham 3 Tamworth 0 Highlights Tue 23rd August 2011

Wrexham 3 Tamworth 0 Tue 23rd August 2011

Sorry it`s a bit late but been busy in work. Another fine win for Wrexham over Tamworth eventually winning 3-0 with the first goal a beauty of an own goal, a cross by Obeng and the Tamworth keeper came out diving to catch it only for their defender to come flying in with a buller header straight into the back of the net. Morrelll hit the bar in the first half and Danny Wright found himself one on one with the keeper but failed to take the opportunity and so it was 1-0 Wrexham at the break.
2nd half and Obeng flew down the right wing in the firs minute and crossed a good ball which could easily have led to Wrexham`s second goal but it wasn`t to be then in the 77th minute Danny Wright held the ball up then laid it on for Tolley who scored his 2nd goal in two matches and then 5 minutes later susbtitute Cieslewicz ran with the ball and cut in and his curling shot went into the bottom far corner.
Wrexham had chances to get another two goals at least and if they had of scored then they would be top and not Gateshead who have scored more goals than Wrexham.

Trust Can`t Afford Saunders - Saunders On Way Out?

There are rumours inside The Racecourse that when the supporters trust eventually takes over Wrexham Fc that the first person to go will be Dean Saunders as the trust do not have the financial backing to be able to keep him. My personal feeling is the worst thing that can happen to Wrexham Fc is the trust buying the club, and after going through the books they realise this and now know just how much money Moss has put into the club out of his own pocket and that's why all the hate campaigns against Moss have died down because the trust realise they just don't have the money that Moss has invested into the club and if Moss can`t afford to run it, then the trust don`t stand a chance.

wrexham 1 Cambridge 1 Saturday 12th August 2011

Wrexham took the lead in the 17th minute through Andy Morrell and had a couple of other chances and went in at half time 1-0. Cambridge have started the second half much the better team and hit the bar with a long shot and should have had a penalty and at the moment Wrexham are hanging on and unless Saunders changes it soon Cambridge are going to score.
Cieslewicz came on for the ineffective Damny Weight and produced two superb runs but also had two great chances which he hit high over the bar.His second run from his own half got him to the edge of Cambridge p penalty area where he played a lovely ball to Speight who was having his shirt pulled and Speight took his shot but it was a certain penalty but the ref didn't give it and that would have sealed the match, instead Cambridge broke and had a shot from edge of the box with Wrexham s defence all over the place and it took a deflection off Knight Perceival and trickled into Wrexhams net deep into injury time. Wrexham then forced four corners on the bounce and went close several times and there was still time for Cieslewicz to waste another glorious chance by blasting the ball well over from inside the box.
All in all a fair result.
Todays attendance 4,230 which after all that's happened during the summer is very disappointing to say the least.
Wrexham play Bath away Tuesday night then are live on TV on Friday night away at Lincoln which will be a tough hand.

Two Hundred Per Cent - This is what they had to say on Wrexham`s Survival

It certainly went to the wire, of that much we can be certain. In fact, it could even be said that it went into extra-time. Eventually, however, the immediate future of Wrexham Football Club was secured by the only people in this particular story that have given every impression of being completely trustworthy from the very start – the fans themselves. This act of saving the club, though, required a level of fund-raising which proved beyond any reasonable doubt that if this club is to have anything like a prosperous future, it must come from those that banded together, cajoled and donated in order raise an extraordinary amount of money in an even more extraordinary amount of time to save it in its absolute hour of need.
Following the scheduled meeting of the Football Conference last Thursday, it quickly became apparent that the league itself was far from satisfied with the assurances given by those currently running the club, and the league demanded a that a bond or bank guarantee of £250,000 be lodged with them by the end of the following money. No formal sanction for failing to do so was announced at the time, but it was widely believed that the club would be prevented from starting the season if it was not done. It was a harsh adjudication – draconian, some might say – but the rationale behind it being breached was understandable. With the unpaid tax debacle at the end of last season, Wrexham had been given a warning without any formal sanction actually being delivered. That player wages should have been late or unpaid throughout the summer on top of this must have set alarm bells ringing that the club would be incapable of completing its fixtures this season, and against such a background it is perhaps unsurprising that the league should make a statement that said, effectively, “enough is enough”.
Geoff Moss, the club’s owner, stated that the requirements of the Football Conference were, “very unreasonable and very unfair”, and, by the close of business on Monday it was clear that the club hadn’t fulfilled its obligations. For those with anything like a cursory knowledge of the club’s affairs, however, Moss was not the person to be looking at if the club was to survive this particular brush with the Grim Reaper. By last weekend, the Wrexham Supporters Trust, whose bid to purchase the club has, in recent weeks, been getting closer and closer to completion, and other supporters of the club were already beginning a fund-raising effort that would demonstrate exactly why their future involvement in the running of the club will be so critical.
With the club understood to be £100,000 short of the amount of money required by the Football Conference, the supporters of their club embarked upon a fund-raising effort that is unlike any seen in the act of saving a football club in recent years. The fund-raising had already started at the weekend, with a group of supporters a group raising money with a twenty-four mile sponsored walk to the team’s pre-season friendly match against Northwich Victoria. With the Football Conference having granted a twenty-four extension to the deadline in order to be able to raise the extra money, money poured into the club. A shade over £27,000 was handed in at The Racecourse Ground, with more being collected through a bank account set up to gather funds together. Several gave thousands of pounds each. One gave the money that he had saved for his wedding. One supporter even offered the deeds to his house in order to save his club – unnecessarily, as things turned out, but the gesture symbolised the spirit of the day.
Many supporters, however, remain angry that they should have had to band together in order to save their club when the parlous situation in which it found itself is entirely the responsibility of those that have been running it since these difficulties began. They are right to feel this way, but it is to be hoped that this fund-raising activity will turn out to be the straw that broke the camels back in terms of the ongoing ownership issues that have been encircling the club for the last few months. At the time that the club needed, more than it had ever needed it before, a sum of money to be paid by a set date, Moss couldn’t deliver. That will likely now be his effective final act as the owner of the club – a statement made yesterday stated that the Football Conference has verbally agreed to the transfer of ownership of Wrexham FC to the Wrexham Supporters Trust, and the money raised yesterday will be returned to those that poured it in once the takeover has been completed. It seems as if, after a nightmare year so far, the ownership issues thhat the club has had may finally now be nearing an end. Moreover, the sale of The Racecourse Ground to Glyndwr University has now also been completed and, while this is not the solution that supporters may have hoped for, it is to be hoped that the university will build a constructive relationship with their tenants.
If there has been one constant theme of the last year or so at Wrexham FC, it has been the constant bad-mouthing of the supporters from so many different quarters. This week, however, they came through for their club in a frankly extraordinary way to keep their club alive. The Wrexham Supporters Trust has kept its head against often insurmountable looking odds, and even there are still issues relating the unity – or otherwise – of the club’s support, perhaps the events of the last few days will have brought a little clarity to the idea that an alternative future for the club, one in which this football club is run for the benefit of its community, without a cast that would not look out of place in a Guy Ritchie movie on the sidelines, can prosper and regain something of the stature that it used to hold. There will be talk of promotion now as well as other such chatter which accompanies the start of a new season, and the champagne corks will probably not start to pop until the contracts are signed and the club is formally under new ownership. For now, though, Wrexham will start the new season. It’s a small step but, as everybody connected with Wrexham Football Club found out on Tuesday, every little helps

Saunders Walks Out Of Crucial Meeting WIth Blue Square Premier Chiefs

The Racecourse Ground The Racecourse Ground

Football Conference Statement on Wrexham

The league's governing body, the Football Conference, have issued an official statement with regards to Blue Square Bet Premier side Wrexham FC.

The Football Conference met with Wrexham officials on Thursday and have subsequently issued a statement.

The statement read:

Wrexham appeared before an independent panel of the Football Conference on Thursday, 4th August 2011, to account for the serious financial situation at the football club.

Besides discussing the current position, the club were requested to detail their projections for the coming season.

The reasoning for this was to satisfy the Football Conference Ltd, from budget information supplied, whether the club could meet its legal and financial obligations as a member and to determine their ability to fulfill their fixtures and meet creditors' demands.

The panel was informed of a third party involvement in relation to the proposed sale of the clubs stadium together with other assets and received information on how the monies from the sale were intending to be used.

It was crucial, with the season due to commence, to establish, how best to protect not only the integrity of the competition but importantly to safeguard the interest of member clubs.

Wrexham Football Club shall by 5pm on Monday, 8th August undertake to the Football Conference Ltd:-

1. Deposit a bond or bank guarantee of £250,000 into the competitions accounts.

2. Proof of payment to all outstanding football creditors, including staff and players wages.

3. Lodge a signed lease, acceptable to the Football Conference, as to where the club intends to play its home fixtures for season 2011/12.

4. Submit a detailed business plan and revised budget for the coming season.

This is probably the most crucial time in the history of Wrexham Fc and what happens, Saunders turns up late for the meeting and halfway through his mobile phone rings, so instead of making sure his phone was on silent or rejecting the call Saunders answers the call goes out of the meeting room and does not even return to the meeting, that must have impressed the bosses at Blue Square Premier for sure.  NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrexham Arrange Friendly Tomorrow Night To Thank Fans

Wrexham Fc have arranged a friendly match between themselves to be held at The Racecourse Thursday 4th August 2011 which is tomorrow night to say a big huge thank you to the fans who have raised over £11,000 to y the players wages. What an absolutely fantastic gesture by the players who in this day and age this sort of thing is unheard of.
Not sure if it is going to cost to get in yet but a huge big thanks should go to the supporters and the players who have rallied together to keep this great club going.

The Truth Behind The Scenes At Wrexham Fc

After yesterdays shock decision by The Crusaders to pull out of the league after this season it seems to have sent every football fan into a frenzy.
Fact1 - Since The Crusaders have been at The Racecourse there has been nothing but trouble, it git that bad that the football club and the rugby club had to hire a person to do the wages for the rugby club while the football club had their own wages clerk and this goes for everything,so basically the backroom staff has doubled, a chief executive for football and another for the rugby because the rugby staff think they are so suoerior to the football staff.

Fact 2 - When Wrexham were struggling to pay off the debt at the end of last season so they could play in the play offs the rugby staff were having new offices at The Racecourse and buying brand new top od the range carpets for their new offices even thought they already had ffices which had nothing wrong with them but they werent good enough for them.

Fact 3 - When they were kicked off Stansty Park, the old Wrexham Fc training ground for not paying their bills they re-located to The Queensway where they hired a painter to pait the Queensway officea for a £1,00 oer day to paint a council run sports centre. After two days they got rid of him but thats £2,000. Who the hell pays a painter that much?

Fact 4 - The rugby squad organised a BBQ two weeks ago and even wanted to put a bouncy castle on the pitch which was quickly stopped once Saunders found out, but the club once again forked out money to organise th BBQ and it wasnt a BBQ me or you woild hace in our vback garden, a lot more extravagant than that.

Fact 5 - Even though they have been warned not to train at The Racecourse, a few weeks ago when Saunders was on holiday they just turned up and even though the groundsman had started cutting the grass they stopped him not giving a toss about the pitch.

So for every football fan moaning about The Crusaders pullling out, it actually will save Wrexham a small fortune as they can get rid of half the backroom ataff who are getting oaid fordoinf hardly anything.

Less than three weeks before season starts Wrexham Fc atill havent got their kit and are playing friendlies in a kit they bought on the morning of the Huddersfield feiendly and the person reaponaible for organising it Jon Harris is away on holiday.

Lastly anyone been to the club shop yet, well if you want football stuff dont bother because the person running it is a rugby person and has emptied alll the football atuff out of there, as if its too much trouble to sell both.

Wrexham v Wolves X1 Monday 25th July 2011

lHalf time at The Racecourse and its still goalless with Wrexham having three chances in first five minutes , the first a lovely through ball from Lee Fowler split the defence and Cieslewicz with only the keeper to.beat hit it straight at him. Nothing else of any note during the first half but once again Lee Fowler is the star running the game for Wrexham. Indeed it was Lee Fowler ho scorwd for Wrexham chasing a defender nicking the ball and calmly curling his left foot shot into the corner of the net putting Wrexham 1-0 up before getting a huge cheer from a very poor crowd but when you arrange friendlies against opposition like tonight which was Wolves reservea then people are not going to spend their hard earned cash ans you cant blame them, pas he wa subbed. Wolves scored making the final score 1-1..
Half hour before kick off Chris Maxwell who was supposed to start the game complained of seing red dots before his eyes and was immediately pulled out of the squad.
Also Dean Saunders and Jay Harris have had another argument and he was dropped from the squad, so that argument they had last week has not been forgiven by Saunders as he has publicly stated in several local newspapers. What this space.
The goalkeeper Jocelyn Mayebi has impressed me in the two matches I have watched him play so far as he comes for more crosses than Maxwell does but hid distributipn of the ball is first class, inlike Maxwell who aims for Gareth Taylor as soon as Maxwell has the ball in his hands, Mayebi's distribution is a million times better, always looking to keep possession with a short ball and hee has a superb long throw which is very accurate and I would definitely start with him let Maxwell who is holding out for more monry release as I personally dont rate Maxwell that good,he is toomall rubbish at crosses and his distribution is shocking to say the least.

I have also been impressed with Nat Knight Percival playing in central defence and he is making that positionhis own with his performances plus adding a bit of pace to our slow sefence.
I cant go without singing the praises of Ciewelsicz who once again put inanother good performance with the Wolves defence really struggling to contain him.

Wrexham v Rochdale Sat 23rd July 2011 Friendly

Its half time at The Racecourse and Wrexham took the lead when Danny Wright chased onto a back oass which Rochdales keeper could only manage to hit it against Danny Wright and the ball went into the net, then Wrexham made it 2-0 when a good ball by Cieselqicz aent Johnny Hunt down the wing and his cross was deflected in off a Rochdale defender to make it 2-0 to Wxm. Rochdalw got one back when a blistering long range effort was too hot for Joslain Mayebi and he could only parry it and the striker scored the rebound with Wrexhams defen e staric. A minute before half time Rochdale got their aecond with a free header at the far post in front of the empty deserted kop and from a yard out he couldnt miss and thats how the first half ended with the game evenly poised at 2-2. Not sure what the attendance is yet but a very poor turn out, will be very surprised if therw are more than 1,000 fans here. Tolley with a free kick ten yards from touchline level with the 8 yard box scored an absolute scorcher into the top far corner the keeper could getnowhere near it, the goal coming around 15 minutes into thw second half and Wrexham then hd a goal disallowed for what I have no idea because a free kick the keeper could only parry was put into the net for the referee to disallow the goal, butwith 5 minutes left it is still 3-2 to Wrexham, and nearly 4-2 with Rochdales keeper having a nightmare and from the corner Wrexham hit the bar feom a hwader on the edge of the box. The final score 3-2 to Wrexham.

Supporters Trust Pull Out Of Buying Wrexham Fc

I have it on very good authority that the supporters trust have pulled out of buying Wrexham Football Club after weeks of going through the books. The trust want the current owners to pay off all the debts before they agree to takeover the club, but that simply is not going to happen and as I have said all along the trust don't have the financial backing to run the club which anyone who could count to ten could see a million miles away, which once again leaves the club in the lurch. If no-one had interfered then the club would have been bought already by Colin Poole which would have been better than the clubs current position.
Now who knows what`s round the corner, but I just hope that if someone else comes in then I hope everyone lets them get on with it and no-one tries stopping them because look where it has got us now. NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrexham 1 Huddersfield 2 and Abersywyth 1 Wrexham 6

With two matches played so far 7 goals scored and 3 conceded thete has been plenty of goals. I know they are only friendlies but the player wo has stood out for me just like he did last year is Cheesy ,he makes things happen and set the goal up for Pogba on Wednesday night and managed to grab a goal himself today along with Little, Johnny Hunt, Speight, Morrell and Danny Wright and Maxwell came on and played as an outfield player.

Club Shop Empties Football Merchandise and Sells Rugby Stuff Only

The Wrexham Football Club Shop which is on the old Dickens Car Sales ground and less than two years old has been emptied of all the football merchandise and now just stocks rugby merchandise as the football stuff will now go back to the small building at the back of The Racecourse where it was for years.
Who the hell do the rugby staff think they are? they have no right to do this, this is a football club and not a rugby club and when the season starts there will be trouble over this. The rugby have only been at this ground for a season and a half, they are rock bottom of their league, have crap attendances unless they play one of the big teams who bring a good following with them because the crusaders are lucky to get more than 2,000 supporters, they are losing money every week but continue to run the club as if they have ran it for the last 100 odd years and anyone who dares to cross them they give them a right mouthful as they did to someone working there two weeks ago when they turned up on a weekday to train at the racecourse even though Saunders has banned them from training there but at the time Saunders was on holiday himself so the cheeky bastards thought they would take the piss and train at the racecourse. Whoever said the rugby would be good for The Racecourse and still insists it is good needs their head testing as they are costing the club a small fortune and not even making money to pay for the team, let alone a brand new carpet in their office and now the cheeky twats have kicked all the football stuff out of our football club shop. Its time we got rid of these rugby pricks who think they are bigger than the club. This is a football club not a bloody rugby club so fuck off and dont come back.

Wrexham`s New Signing Jake Speight Has Spent Time In Jail

In February 2010, Speight assaulted his girlfriend of two years Kathy Mugglestone, after she drove him to hospital.Speight received a 12-week jail sentence in July 2010 after pleading guilty to the assault. He had failed to inform Bradford's manager, Peter Taylor, or his previous club, Mansfield, of the charges against him which only came to light following his court appearance. Speight appealed against his sentence a week later and he was released from prison; a Crown Court judge ordered his sentence to be suspended for 18 months and that Speight conduct 100 hours of community work.

His goal record is hardly anything to shout about either. Only scored 35 goals since 2004 playing for 10 different clubs and has not stayed at any of the clubs more than one year.

Speight began his career at Sheffield United, and was loaned out to Conference National side Leigh RMI in March 2005 to gain experience, Leigh were relegated, and Speight didn't make it onto the pitch.
He joined Scarborough on work experience in August 2005,scoring in both his first two appearances for the club. He was allowed to join the Seadogs permanently, and therefore never made an appearance for the Blades Three months later he switched to Bury, of League Two On 13 January 2006, he scored his first and second league goals, in a 3-2 victory over Torquay United He finished the season with two goals in seventeen appearances. He made another seventeen appearances for Bury in 2006–07, mostly as a substitute, and failed to find the net all season. He was released by the club in June 2007.
Following his release from Bury, Speight dropped back into non-league football, signing for Northwich Victoria.

He joined Conference North club Farsley Celtic in the summer of 2008, and then moved to Droylsden in March 2009.

In June 2010, Bradford City bought Speight for £25,000, offering the player a two year contract.
He started his spell with his new club by receiving a jail sentence for assault - without having informed the club beforehand that he had a court case. His work rate on the pitch made him popular with supporters, but he found just one goal in twelve appearances. On 29 October 2010 he joined League Two promotion chasers Port Vale on a one month loan. Manager Micky Adams had looked to sign the player permanently before he went to Bradford. His appearance in a goalless draw at the Pirelli Stadium with Burton Albion on 2 November 2010 earned Speight the honour of being the 1,000th player to play for Port Vale in the Football League.[17] After scoring in a 5-0 win over Stockport County, Speight's loan spell was extended for a second month.[18] He returned to Bradford in the new year.

Wrexham Football Club faces £200,000 tax deadline

Wrexham Football Club has to pay a £200,000 tax bill on Thursday if it wants to be included in the end-of-season promotion play-offs.
A press conference has been called for 3pm today at The Racecourse.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Wrexham 2 Kettering Town 0 Sat 15th April 2011

Wrexham included Gareth Taylor in the starting lone up in for the injured Pogba and as per usual when Taylor plays the ball is just in the air and it is dreadful to watch. This was a Kettering team who lost 5-0last week to Barrow and it was easy to see why as they were dreadful but so were we. Morell and Taylor up front have got absolutely no pace against a team whse number 5 has obviously ate too many pies as he wasa fattie but to be fair to the lad he had Taylor in his back pocket and they went in half time goalleess. No subs made by Saunders half time whenthe team was cryinf out for Cieweslcki and Lee Fowler to bring a bit of skill pace and xlass to a team who were struggling to break down a very very poor Kettering team. The breakthrough came due to a horrendous mistake from their keeper as he was played a back pass ans instead of kicking it away tried to dso a bit of skill and Mangan took the nall ofd gim and despite being pulled back he slottes the ball home and Keates made it 2-0 in the last minute woth a shot frm inside the box after Gareth Taylor got the ball stuck under his feet and laid it off for Keates to left foot it home. This could be a waste of time getting inro the play offs as Wrexham habe beeen issued a winding up order despite the crusadets takong on anoyther two hirls in the office snd signing another player.

Play-off hopefuls Wrexham hit by transfer embargo

Play-off hopefuls Wrexham hit by transfer embargo

Page last updated at 07:00 GMT, Monday, 28 March 2011 08:00 UK
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders Dean Saunders still wants to strengthen his Wrexham squad
Manager Dean Saunders says his hopes of leading Wrexham back into the Football League have been hit by a transfer embargo.
The Dragons are fourth in the Blue Square Bet Premier and hope to secure a play-off place.
"We can't sign any players until we've paid off some bills, so my hands are tied at the minute," revealed Saunders.
"Everybody else up there will be strengthening and we're not - that's causing me a problem."
Wrexham FC Supporters' Trust are trying to buy the club after joining forces with former rival bidder, businesswoman Stephanie Booth.
But the club's directors have suspended talks with Booth.
A statement on the club's website on Friday read: "The directors of Wrexham FC are disappointed by allegations made by Stephanie Booth that the club is 'days away from administration'.
"These are totally without foundation.
"We consider these remarks to be very damaging to the business of Wrexham Football Club.
"In view of this, all negotiations concerning Stephanie Booth's bid will be temporally suspended.
"Every business has it problems and no one likes them to be aired in public.
"The club's monthly debtors and creditors list currently has a fairly neutral position and it might surprise a few, that the debtors outweigh the creditors.
"We currently have a creditors issue with HMRC, due to the zero tolerance they have taken with all football clubs following some recent high profile cases.
"Negotiations continue to resolve this matter, which we hope will be decided over the coming weeks."
Saunders says the "circus around the club" is not affecting him, but not being able to sign players is.
"It's a problem," he added. "I think we should be strengthening the team as we're in such a good position.
"Now is the time where we can probably spend some money because if we do get into the play-offs, we'll get two big gates and that will pay for all the players' wages."
The club went on to release another statement after Sunday's 1-0 win over Newport County.
"The directors of Wrexham FC would like to apologise to supporters for what they can only describe as the deeply embarrassing media circus surrounding the club at the moment," it said.
"They accept some responsibility for this and feel it best that no more statements are made for the time being."

Stephanie Booth who gave Wrexham Football Club some free beer is now demanding that she has her beer back.  This person would ruin Wrexham Fc if she ever were to take control of it and it would be a lot better if she just left Wrexham Fc alone as she has done nothing for the club, not mentioned how much money she is actually putting into the club itself and several weeks down the line we are no further into selling the club before she came onto the scene. She is all mouth and no action, I am sure it will make for good tv for her Hotel Stephanie series. Last year she was filmed outside Woolworths and The Horse and Jockey pub in town and said she was going to do this and that to both buildings, what has she done? nothing!Woolworths is still standing empty and the Horse and Jockey pub is exactly the same. She likes her own publicity and the reason she has fallen out with Wrexham is because she wants to put the club into adminstration next season which means we would start with minus 25 points and would come straight back down. She see`s this as a way of saving thousands of pounds and published this on the internet last week, so it`s no wonder Wrexham have suspended talks with her. It`s my ball and I going home now seems to fit her.

Wrexham Shirt Vote for 2011/12 Home Shirt

Wrexham Shirt Vote for 2011/12 Home Shirt

Conference National club Wrexham FC is consulting its fans before it takes a decision on the new home strip for the 2011/12 season. The club which plays in the fifth level of the English league system, and which ranked 11th in the 2009/10 campaign, has given its fans 4 options from which to choose. After 37 matches played, the team seems to be in contention for the Playoffs for promotion to League Two.
Votes are being received through email (shirts@wrexhamfc.tv) and fans must include their choice number, their name, address and phone number in the email. The shirts of the club are designed by Puma and the winning design will be announced at the home game against Newport County. Those supporters who vote for the winning design enter with a chance to be a cub guest for the match against Hayes & Yeading. The club had been sponsored by Umbro for three years before switching to German brand Puma for the 2011/12 season.

All four options feature a red shirt, which is the traditional home colour of the club nicknamed the Red Dragons. The first option has a white collar and white stripes separating the sleeves from the chest. The second option has a white V-neck collar, white sleeve hems, and two stripes, one being white and the other green, on the right shoulder. The third option has a red V-neck collar, red sleeve hems, and two white stripes on the right shoulder. The fourth option has a white V-neck collar, white sleeve hems, two white stripes on the right shoulder and a horizontal white stripe on the body. If you wish to wish, please send your email and details to the address mentioned above.

Christian Smith joins TAMWORTH

Lyttle hopes Smith's arrival will boost Lambs

Saturday 19th March 2011
TAMWORTH manager Des Lyttle hopes his team can return to form after signing midfielder Christian Smith from Wrexham.
Smith has arrived on an emergency loan for the rest of the season and will make his debut in this weekend’s trip to relegation battlers Altrincham.
“With Christian coming in and Stewart Hendrie joining us last week, that will hopefully bring us a little bit of freshness,” Lyttle told the Birmingham Mail.
Flying high: Christian Smith in action for Wrexham

“Christian is a big, strong lad with a nice left foot and he will bring something a little bit different.”
Midfielder Smith needed international clearance to join from the Dragons and this will be the 23-year-old’s third loan spell of the season after stints at Newport and Barrow.

Ashley Ward Pulls Out - Stephanie Booth Back In

Ashley Ward has pulled out of buying Wrexham and that leaves the door open for Stephanie Booth to carry on with her bid to buy the club but I feel this is totally the wrong choice as she wants to run the place with volunteers. What planet is she on? We are in the middle of a recession so who the hell is going to volunteer to work all week every week for nothing. She is in cuckoo land and this bid I feel is doomed. I mean exactly howq much is she putting into the club as there has not been any mention of how much money she is willing to invest which is very strange and I feel she is trying to get the club without investing hardly any money at all and is hoping the fans will invest in her idea. I for one will not!

Wrexham 1 Rushden 1

Stephanie Booth`s Wrexham Vison Was Doomed From Start

Before she pulled out last week of buying the club, last Tuesday she brought all her cronies to the racecourse ground to give the place the once over and her vision was to run The Racecourse with volunteers, yes that`s right VOLUNTEERS. You may be able to run Cefn Druids with volunteers but you cannot run a club the sixe of Wrexham with volunteers, does she not know that there is a recession on and who the hell is going to volunteer to work all week for nothing, imagine the state of the pitch being cut by volunteers, people who I doubt very much would work from 8am on a Saturday morning until the ground is totally empty and has to lock up around 8pm on a Saturday night, so who wants to volunteer for that, oh I forgot about the other 5 days as well, oh and he has to do the Queensway pitch for The Crusaders and Colliers Park. Stephanie Booth is madder than I first thought, she must be a bit mad to have a sex change operation anyway. Good riddance to her is all I can say.

Wrexham 1-1 Rushden and Diamnds Saturday, 12 March 2011

Wrexham went 1-0 up through a Andy Mangan header which looped over the keeper before hitting the bar and bouncing down but then it bounced back into the net to put Wrexham 1-0 up. Wrexham were hardly threatened for the first half hour but slowly but surely Rushden were coming back into the game and Chris Maxwell was lucky to escape a red card after a long punt up the field by Rushden had them chasing the ball and Maxwell came out to collect the ball which was a yard outside the box closest to the Mold Road Stand nd Maxwell just caught the ball outside of the box and did a quick step back into the box when he put the ball on the floor and was relieved the linesman didn`t wave his flag as the linesman was right in front of the action. Everyone in The Mold Road Stand could clearly see it and couldn`t believe how fortunate Maxwell was.
In the 52nd minute Rushden had a corner which Maxwell reacted way too slow and was easily beaten to the ball by Rushden`s Huke who had a free header to equalise, but Maxwell was absolutely fuming and ran to the half way line after the referee who prompted showed him a yellow card, why he ran that far I do not know as he was clearly at fault for being too slow and he had a poor game as his kicking was terrible once again and the constant long balls he kicks are just a waste of time as our forwards are hardly known for winning headers and 9 times out of 10 the ball would go straight to a Rushden player or straight to their keeper. When will Maxwell learn? Never by the looks of things a a few minutes later Maxwell clearly pushed one of their players and Rushden should have been awarded a penalty but once again Maxwell got away with it. The game was crying out for the speedy Cieslewicz who would have torn this defence apart but once again Saunders leaves our best player on the bench, but having said that we had 3 clear goal scoring chances which Pogba, Creighton and Morrell all failed to convert. Tolley scored what looked like a good goal only for the referee to disallow it and having seen the replay there is nothing to suggest that Tolley did anything wrong and the referee clearly got that decision wrong.

Wrexham: Maxwell, Obeng, Creighton, Sinclair, Ashton, McMillan, Tolley, Fowler, Mangan, Pogba, Morrell.
Subs Not Used: Mayebi, Andrews, Taylor, Cieslewicz, Knight-Percival.
Booked: Maxwell.
Goals: Mangan 14.

Rushden & D'monds: Joe Day, Miller, Huke, Oshodi, Jamie Day, Porter, Mills, Power, Cowan Hall (Johnson 73), Gash, Charles (Farrell 46).
Subs Not Used: Evans, Keehan, Shariff.
Booked: Power.
Goals: Huke 52.

Wrexham 0 Crawley Town 0 Tue 15th Feb 2011

Two days after losing two goal lead at Crawley Town and having a man sent off who missed this match along with Curtis Obeng meanuing a debut for our recent signing from Glasgow Rangers at right back Wrexham in front of a big crowd from Wrexbam, less than 60 from Crawley Town were held to a goalless draw in a very ill temprered first half not helped by the referee who was giving Crawley everything and Wrexham notbing and after a bad tackle by a crawley player on Mangan which the ref did nothing about, our new signing took his own revenge and was lucky to stay on the pitch after bad tackle feom behind which the Crawley bench were not happy abouteven though it waa a shocjing foul on Mangan first but that was lost on Steve Evans and his assistant who who was shown a red card after mouthing off to the ref and makinv a stamping action with his foot accusing the Wrexhamplayer. This was the first of many flashpoints in the first half and Crawley Town were getting away with murder whilst Wrexham were penalised for evwrything. Crawley must have been raking diving lessons as everytime they got tackled by a Wrexham player they wwnt down as if rhwy were shot by a sniper, disgraceful actions which the league need to stp down on. Wrexham ro be fair played really poor and insisted on hitting the long ball throughout the whole match which didnt work and why Saundees relied on the long ball after playing so well when knocking the ball around on the floor only he knows. No real chances first half but in the first minute of the second half Ceeuighton bad a free geader two yards out and the player standing on the line actually hit hia foot ro go for a corner. Gareth Taylor came on for Pogba and did absolutely nothing not even winning a header then on came Ciewelscki with 15mins left to replace Morrell and with the poles first run in front of the Mold Road stand which was full he skinned four of the Crawley Town players as if they werent there and crossed for i to come to nothing and even though he was in plenty of space the ball only came to him just once more whwre he had the home crowd on their feet and again went past defenders as if tbey werent there. Percival .ame on for Tolley but at the end result I left the racecourse feeling vwry down because we had two shots on target and Scott Shearer the ex Wrexham keeper didnt have a shot to save all night but looked dodgy on back passes and if Cieweslcki had started then Im sure we would have beat them. Saunders for gods sake put tbe pole in the starting line up as hbe lifts the whole crowd, the team and the opposition are scared of him.

Wrexham have recruited Glasgow Rangers defender Jordan McMillan on loan for the rest of the season.
A deal was brokered between the clubs late on Monday, with the FA of Wales accepting his clearance before the deadline.
Wrexham were just waiting to hear confirmation of the signing from the Football Conference.
"Jordan is a 22-year-old defender who can play full-back or along the back four," said manager Dean Saunders.
"He has featured in the Rangers first team on a few occasions and also enjoyed loan spells with Hamilton and Queen of the South.
"Walter Smith has been very helpful over the deal and we would like to thank all at Ibrox for their assistance."
McMillan goes to the Racecourse where he will team up with ex-Rangers centre back Marvin Andrews.
McMillan said: "It's a good move for me because I need to be playing and it will be great to see Marvin."

Mansfield Town 2 Wrexham 3 Sat 29th January 2011

The following is a statement released by the directors of Wrexham Football Club following a bit of crowd trouble at Mansfield this afternoon.

Club Statement

Posted on: Sat 29 Jan 2011

THE Directors, staff and players of Wrexham FC would like to apologise to their counterparts at Mansfield Town for the actions of a small number of people in the away stand at Field Mill this afternoon.
Wrexham supporters travel the length and breadth of England and Wales supporting their club and to see a handful letting everyone else down is deeply disappointing.
As is normally the case, these people are not regulars at our games, but that doesn't disguise the fact they have travelled from Wrexham.
As and when any individuals are identified as being involved, then they will automatically receive bans from the Racecourse Ground.
There is no room for this people in the game.

Truth Behind The Scenes At Wrexham Football Club

This is the first time you will read this on the internet and if you are a Wrexham fan you will be fuming like I was when I got told but cannot reveal my source.

The Crusaders In France

The rugby team Crusaders who have debts of £2 million pounds amazingly went to France last Thursday tp do a bit of training and come back this week where they will be training at their new training ground in the middle of Queens Park at Queensway. Wrexham Fc have paid a firm £1,000 to paint just two rooms in the Queensway complex no bigger than the size of an everage living room round here, even though it is a council run business.

Burst Pipes
During the recent cold weather spell there are burst pipes all around The Racecourse and they had a plumber there 8 hours a day for two weeks. It took him a week to find the stopock, yes a week as no0one knew where it was and the pipes are bursting with leaks still today, so whether the Eric Roberts Stand is open for the next home match no-one is sure.
I dont have figures for the plumber but I do know they don`t come cheap.

Club Shop
The club shop is soon going to be taken over and the merchandise is going to be replaced but atthios moment in time I forget the name of the company who are taking it overbut as soon as I remember it I will post it here.

Dean Saunders Transfers

Dean Saunders Transfers since becoming Wrexham manager in October 2008

Monday 8th Jun 2009

Kyle Is Latest To Leave

DEFENDER Kyle Critchell has agreed a deal which will see him leave the club with immediate effect, despite having a season left on his current contract, the necessary paperwork will be completed shortly.

The 22-year-old Wales U21 international had progressed through the youth and reserve teams at Southampton and also enjoyed a loan spell with Torquay United.

He left for Chesterfield in 2007 and was released by them after half a season, when he moved to Weymouth, his hometown club.

A move to Wrexham followed last summer, but he was suspended for the first three games of the season (following a red card in his final match with Weymouth) and then picked up an injury in training at the end of August.

After recovering from this ankle problem four months later, he said he was looking to be loaned out to help improve his first team chances at Wrexham. Joining fellow Conference side York City on a month's loan in early January 2009.

He was due to make his debut a day later against former club Weymouth, but the match was postponed due to the bad weather, before eventually made his first appearance after playing in the 2-1 victory over Oxford United ten days later.

His loan was extended for a second month on 4 February and finished with him making 11 appearances for the Minstermen.

Coming back to Wrexham in early March, Kyle then rejoined his local side Weymouth on loan until the end of the season. Playing eight times while with Weymouth, one bright spot as the Terras were relegated to the Conference South.

In total, Kyle only played two games for the Dragons, both last August.

He leaves with our best wishes and we hope he will soon be settled with a new club.

Tuesday 4th June 2009

Nat Brown has revealed he wants to leave the club so he can get first team football and not just sit and languish in the reserves. Personally I don`t think Matt has had much of a look in at Wrexham and maybe if he had had a decent look in then he would have made the centre back position his own as every time I saw him play, he always played quite a decent game so not sure if I am glad he is leaving or gutted. It`s one of them.

Tuesday 4th June 2009

Mark has signed a 12 month contract with a clause in it, which states that if after 4 months he has not done enough then Wrexham can tear up his contract and send Mark on his way.

Tuesday 19th May 2009

Levi Macken & Shaun Walley have both been released by Wrexham manager Dean Saunders. Both of them spent most of last season on loan at York City and Southport respectively but have been told they are no longer required at Wrexham. I am glad to see them both go as I thought both of them were uselesss footballers and have been very fortunate to be given a chance to play football for a living. If I was them I suggest they start looking for a proper job because they never going to make a decent living out of football as they are not good enough.

14th May 2009

Nathan Fairhurst joins Wrexham full time.

MIDFIELD player Nathan Fairhurst believes he has made the right choice by joining Wrexham, rather than staying with Championship club Preston North End.

The 19-year-old says the opportunity to play regular first team football with the Dragons is a better option rather than sit on the bench or play reserve team football at Preston where he was offered a new contract. I wish Nathan all the best and am sure that if he has a successful season then there will be a host of clubs trying to get his signature as he is too good to be playing non league football for more than a season.

Tuesday 5th May 2009

Jefferson Louis has left Wrexham by mutual consent with a year still left on his contract. The laziest footballer I have ever had the misfortune to watch play for Wrexham

Wednesday 29th April 2009

Gavin Ward - Keeper near the end of his career who served us well for 2 years.

Christian Gyan - The only match I seen him play, he was subbed at half time as he was shocking.

Anthony Williams - People claim he kept Wrexham in the league the season they beat Boston on the last day but he played about 12 games after coming in on loan and he was very lucky as all the shots in those 12 games came at a decent height and mae him look a better keeper than he was. Useless and good riddance.

Chris Marriott - Never saw him play.

Simon Spender - The promise he had as a youngster was never seen and was not good enough for Wrexham. Only reason he got a run in the team because Brian Little and Brian Carey don`t have a clue about playing football the proper way and thought he was the answer to someone with a bit of skill taking on players.

"He's played at a higher level, he's aggressive and he's another centre half," said Wrexham manager Dean Saunders, who saw defenders Steve Evans and Shaun Pejic leave the club my mutual consent this week.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders yesterday strengthened his promotion-chasing squad by signing winger Jamie McCluskey and he is actively pursuing yet more targets to keep his players fresh for the final 10 weeks of the season.

Saunders said new boy McCluskey faced a battle for selection, but predicted he would quickly become a crowd-pleaser at the Racecourse.

"Jamie has joined us until the end of the season and if he does well we will give him a new deal next season.

"He has not played for a long time but the fans will love watching him. He is a very talented young player, but his first job is to force his way into the team. Once he has done that I’m sure he will become a crowd favourite."

McCluskey, at one time the youngest ever player to feature in the Scottish Premier League when at Hibernian, hopes his move to the Racecourse will finally launch a career blighted by injury. A twice-broken foot was at the root of the problem, but the 21-year old Scot is optimistic that the worst is behind him.

"I have only been here a week and a half and I’ve only trained with the other lads for three days," he said.

"This is a big opportunity for me to get back to playing regular football and I owe that to the manager and his staff who have all been great with me. I have been to Partizan Belgrade in Serbia and Catania in Italy, but I have not played for a year.

"Wrexham are obviously doing well, but I would not have signed for them unless I felt I had something to offer and I’ll be doing my best to break into the first team as quickly as possible."

17th February Andrew Crofts signs on as a Wrexham player Andrew Crofts

Wrexham FC sign Andrew Crofts

DEAN SAUNDERS has lured Wales star Andrew Crofts to the Racecourse – but the midfielder couldn’t prevent Wrexham slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion last night.

Crofts, who has 12 international caps, made his debut in the Pirelli Stadium loss after completing a whirlwind loan switch from League Two side Gillingham hours before the game.

The signing provided Saunders some consolation after watching his side throw away a 1-0 advantage against the league leaders, with Jefferson Louis opening the scoring on 23 minutes.

And the manager believes Crofts has a glittering career ahead of him, having watched the midfielder at close quarters while on international duty with Wales.

In dispute with his club Gillingham, where his contract expires at the end of the season, the 24-year old has joined the Dragons until the end of the season in order to play regular first team football.

And the Racecourse boss is delighted to have secured the player’s services for Wrexham’s bid to bounce back into the Football League at the first attempt.

“He’s coming to help us in this final push for promotion,” said Saunders.

“I know his qualities from working with him at Wales and this boy could end up playing in the Premiership. He played against Holland last summer, where he made a good impression on the coaching staff.

“This is a major coup for us and shows the ambition of the chairman and myself in trying get Wrexham promoted out of this league.

“Andrew’s presence brings experience and strength to the squad and he will bring the best out of our younger players. He is a good, solid character and certainly no fancy-dan player because he rolls his sleeves up and gets stuck in.

“Andrew will definitely move onto better things. But it shows the boy’s character that he is will to come and help a Welsh club in the short term. He really is doing us a big favour.

“Both John Toshack and myself advised the player that a move to Wrexham would be a big help to both him and Welsh football.”

Crofts has also won under 19 and under 21 honours and was Gillingham’s player of the year last season. He made nearly 200 appearances for the Kent club, scoring 17 goals.

Wrexham have been busy in the transfer market again, albeit only on loan. A new goalkeeper which we need and another central defender which we definitely don`t need. After making five Appearances, Gunnar was signed by Premier League Blackburn Rovers in July 2007 for an undisclosed fee. While at Rovers, he had a six month loan spell with Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell, before moving onto Manchester City in a two and a half year deal. Obviously Mark hughes must rate him highly to bring him to Man City from Blackburn seeing as Man City already have two excellent goalkeepers. At 6 foot 3 he should be able to handle anything in the air which is what we desperately need. How many times have we lost to set pieces is un-real so hopefully this should put a stop to that. Assoumani signs for DragonsWrexham have announced the signing of defender Mansour Assoumani for the remainder of the season.Mansour is 28,and was born in Nice, France. He is 6 feet 2 inches and can play in central defence or right back. Assoumani began his career with French club Montpellier, making 74 appearances and scoring 4 goals in a five year stay. He has also played for German second division clubs Saarbrucken and Sportfreunde Siegen. In December 2008, Assoumani was offered a one month contract with First division Leeds United. He made one appearance while at Elland road, Playing in the 3-1 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons.Mansour was released by Leeds in January 2009, and trained with Crewe Alexandra but failed to secure a contract. At last we have some real height in our defence which is what we desperately required. I have now lost count of the number of players we have signed permanently or got on loan in the last two years. Surely we must be talking over 50 players. Geoff Moss surely must be congratulated on the money he has spent since taking over at Wrexham or sent to the nearest mental institution and strapped to the chair for his own well being and mental health because let`s face it, who else would have ploughed the amount of money into Wrexham during the last year or so. We must have had more players than Pamela Anderson has had ,well you know what she has had.
