Wrexham fail yet again to win at home. These are the games that Wrexham should be winning but we are not even creating the chances we were when Marc Williams was playing before his injury. We used to create numerous chances with Marc Williams in the team and we could afford to miss several as you knew that sooner or later we would put one of the chances away and that`s how we were winning so many games. Now we sruggle to create any clear cut chances at all no matter who we play up front. Personally I would love to see Lee Trundle back at Wrexham as he can`t get a game at Bristol City and would be a superb player to have and you know that he will get his fair share of goals in this league.
We have got no-one who has the ability he has and he can turn a man in an instant whereas we have no-one who can do that and that`s what we are missing. Sylvio Spann started his first game last night along with Patrick Suffo but Suffo has not got the legs to run past players like he used to years ago and Spann who has been at the club for 3 years has failed to make any sort of impact at all. When he signed everyone was hoping he could fill the boots of Carlos Edwards but it`s fair to say he has not exactly set the world or The Racecourse alight. When he plays a few games on the run then he is definitely a better player for it and we might as well give him the chance because the play-off`s are well and truly beyond our reach now as we have blown it big time.
Rumour has it that when Jefferson Louis was dropped for the Nantwich match that he had a slanging argument with Dean Saunders and Saunders has lost the dressing room. Let me stress that this is only a rumour at the moment but there seems to be something in it and I will be very surprised if they are both at Wrexham next season.

The team that Saunders picked last night again had no pace up front at all and to leave Ryan Flynn on the bench is absolutely crazy. Proctor is not good enough and should not even be on the bench let alone in the starting eleven because he is simply not good enough. I find it unbelieveable that Saunders has picked him these last few games because he has got nothing to give to the team whatsoever.

Barrow's Nick Rogan struck in the second minute of injury-time to boost his side's hopes of avoiding relegation and dent Wrexham's faint play-off bid.
Substitute Rogan turned in Mark Boyd's from 12 yards out to earn a point.
Teenage apprentice Obi Anoruo had put Wrexham ahead with his first senior goal in the 76th minute after Andy Fleming's shot ricocheted to him.
Wes Baynes and Andrew Crofts had come close for the hosts earlier while the visitors' Carlos Logan fired just wide.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said:
"I have to be careful what I say because we've committed defensive suicide again.
"We were nervous as there are players not over-flowing with confidence but to concede another goal like that, I'm running out of things to say. It makes the staff look like mugs.
"I have a list as long as my arm of goals of bad goals scored against us lately. I find it unbelievable what I'm looking at with some of the mistakes people are making and it is going on and on.
"We spend more time working on cutting out defensive errors in training than anything else, we can't keep making mistakes like that otherwise you'll end up playing in the Conference for the rest of your career.
"We gave daft free-kicks away and we were naive. There are some players I can help but there are some players not even José Mourinho can help."

A team that is more like Brian Little`s team than Dean Saunders team, so is it any wonder that we have lost yet another game. Collin gaves a free kick away from which they score and then he concedes a penalty which the keeper saved. Why is he playing instead of Mike Williams. Jefferson Louis is an absolute disgrace, he is one idle twat who should be kicked out now. I would give my right arm to play football and get paid for it and I would run non stop and give 100%. perhaps he should come and work with me and get up at 3am 6 days a week, perhaps that`s what he needs, a bit of reality in his life.

The play-off`s are now a dream which is the only way we are going to be in the play`offs. We have blown it truly and surely and to think of all them games we had in hand on the other teams, now teams have games in hand on us which is shocking.

A striker we desperately need but we go and get another bloody defender. Why?

Goal hero Matt Jansen hopes Wrexham's 2-1 victory at struggling Northwich Victoria can reignite their push for promotion back to Football League.
Ex-Blackburn striker Jansen's goal inspired Dean Saunders' team to their first Blue Square Premier win in seven games at Victoria Stadium on Tuesday.
"The lads are delighted to get a good win after a run of results that haven't gone our way," said Jansen.
"Hopefully we can build on this win and gain some confidence."
Wrexham are eight points and four places outside the Blue Square Premier play-off top five with two games in hand on fifth-placed Stevenage Borough.
Fellow play-off chasers Crawley Town visit The Racecourse on Saturday for a promotion six-pointer.
Then Kidderminster, who are just four points behind Stevenage with two games in hand, travel to Wrexham on Monday in another crucial potential play-off decider.
Oxford United and Kettering, two of the other teams vying with Wrexham for a play-off berth, also have the play Saunders' side.
Former Premier League star Jansen, who has come out of two-year long retirement to sign for old friend Saunders until the end of the season, scored his first goal for four-and-a-half years at Northwich.
Jansen, who hasn't scored since a goal for Blackburn against Birmingham City at Ewood Park in November 2004, said: "You hope you don't lose your goal-scoring knack.
"But you're as only as good as your service and that was good at Northwich.
"Scoring anywhere is a great feeling and it is always good to get your first for a club but I should have scored another one but I struck it too well!
"I had three chances but thankfully one of them went in.
"The fitness is slowly coming back but it will take a while as my legs felt heavy."

wrexham10 Jansen opened his goal account in the 15th minute as he levelled Kyle Perry's opener for relegation-threatened Northwich before Nathan Fairhurst struck Wrexham's winner with 16 minutes remaining.
The former England under-21 international was pleased with his first goal in his second Wrexham start but was more happy with the performance of the whole team.
And the 31-year-old says Wrexham must continue to play football if the Dragons are win promotion back to Football League after just a year in non-league obscurity.
"After our first goal at Northwich, we started to believe," said Jansen.
"We got the ball down to play football - and once we did we caused them all of problems, we must do more of that."

Jansen rues Wrexham draw

Matt Jansen made an impressive debut for Wrexham but failed to deliver the club's first win in eight games.

Wrexham took the lead in the first half with a fine strike from a free kick from Wes Baynes on 11 minutes.

But despite dominating the first-half Wrexham could not not add to Baynes' well-taken strike.

Wrexham's victory hopes were dashed by Rob Elvins' 53rd minute shot into the left corner, making it a frustrating afternoon for manager Dean Saunders.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said:
"I could same the same thing as I said after last week's game and the week before's game.

"We played some decent football, Wes scored a good goal and we were in control and there was no problem - then suicide alert in the second-half.

"It was an awful goal that we conceded, we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. We're chucking games away, we should be winning games like that.

"Once we get in front, we're that nervous of giving a goal away that instead of bringing the ball down and passing it, we're just trying to get rid of it - that's a sign of nerves.

"The blatant penalty on Wes Baynes was the most ridiculous decision I've ever seen in my life, if the referee's view was restricted the linesman was right in front of it.

"A penalty there would have put us 2-0 up and we had other chances but we didn't take them, which was a shame because that would have allowed us to relax and play some football."

Matt Jansen has joined Wrexham on a short-term deal

MATT JANSEN has joined Wrexham FC on a short-term deal and could make his debut in Saturday's clash against Woking at The Kingfield Stadium.

Matt Jansen, capped six times at U-21 level for England, has not played since April 2006 following a motorcycle crash in 2002.

The 31-year-old, who began his career with hometown club Carlisle United, also played for Crystal Palace, Blackburn and Bolton, and joined League One outfit Huddersfield on trial last month.

But after watching Wrexham's 1-1 draw against Forest Green Rovers last night from the directors box, Jansen has agreed to come in and help the Reds in their bid to reach the play-offs.

And Dean Saunders – who worked with Jansen at Blackburn – is hoping the disillusioned frontman will recapture his love of the game.

"Matt has agreed to sign," said Saunders today.

"Matt is not doing it for the money, he is not earning a lot. He wants to come and get back to enjoying playing football again – he has not been enjoying it.

"We will not tie him down on a long term deal but if he is enjoying it, I am sure he will stay here longer. It is ideal for him and just what we need.

"Matt has done it to help me and get the club get back up there. He will be in training tomorrow and we will see how his fitness is, but he is available to play Saturday.

"Matt is a class player but I am not expecting miracles. He will come in, work hard and hopefully will show the bits of quality I know he has got in him.

"Matt has not played a lot in the last 18 months but he has been training, so we will see how it goes tomorrow."

Saunders has been desperate to bring in a replacement for Marc Williams who is out for the season with a fractured foot.

Wrexham needed a late strike from Jefferson Louis to salvage a home draw.

Andrew Mangan opened the scoring, Mark Preece's free kick sailing over a static home defence for the striker to blast left-footed past Tony Williams.

But Louis levelled the scores four minutes from time with a right-footed shot low into the centre of the goal from Michael Proctor's pass.

Wrexham, who wasted a host of chances, felt Ryan Flynn should have had a late penalty, but he was booked for diving.

Promotion-seeking Wrexham have now gone seven games without a win, while Forest Green remain in relegation danger.

A poor crowd for Wrexham but after going six games without a win before this match and with Juventus v Chelsea and Liverpool v Real Madrid both live on normal tv then I don`t think there would have been many more if we had won our last 6 matches.

Anthony Williams preferred in goal to Gavin Ward which I don`t understand unless Ward is injured because Williams is not good enough. Mike Williams dropped to the bench who is very unlucky to have been dropped as he has performed decent enough, certainly no worse than any other Wrexham player. Proctor started again and he wastes two glorious chances, one an open goal in the first half and a one on one in the 2nd half. We desperately need a striker and why not try and get Lee Trundle on loan as his Leeds loan is nearly up and it`s obvious Bristol City don`t fancy him. I think that would be a great move for Wrexham and could also kick start Trundle`s career again after he appears to have gotten nowhere since leaving Swansea.

In the end though we were lucky to get a point as we were absolutely awful. How can a bunch of lads, virtually the same team that has performed so well since Saunders put them together go to a complete shambles of a team who struggle to put two passes together. I have no idea and neither I suspect has Saunders.

A disastrous result for promotion chasing Wrexham who even had 7 minutes of injury time but still couldn`t find a way past the Eastbourne defence, a very average Eastbourne side it has to be said as well. A much changed lin up with Michael Proctor getting his first ever start under Dean Saunders in a league game. But with Louis and Proctor up front then surely it must rate as the slowest strike force in history never mind The Blue Square Premier as them two together are never going to out pace anyone, not even part timers and that`s exactly where Wrexham`s problems lie as they have got no pace up front with Marc Williams injured for rest of season. It hardly inspires you either when Patrick Suffo comes on, as whatever pace he did have , has no longer got it and I seriously doubt whether Wrexham can make the paly off`s now unless they get a striker before their next game which is only 3 days away at home on Tuesday night.

Eastbourne 1-0 Wrexham

Matt Smart's winner dealt a severe blow to Wrexham's Blue Square Premier play-off push as Eastbourne Borough snatched a late 1-0 win at Priory Lane.

The Eastbourne midfielder pounced from point-blank range with five minutes remaining to bundle home after keeper Gavin Ward's save from Daniel Brown.

Sam Aiston and Wes Baynes went close for the visitors, Dean Saunders' men having won now just once in six games.

Wrexham move further adrift, now seven points behind the play-off zone.

"It was one of those games where we don't put ourselves under any pressure, we just concentrate on the sides at the bottom so picking up the points against a side like Wrexham, it has been a great day.

"I was really disappointed with our performance, we coasted through the game and didn't look in any trouble and let them off the hook by putting them to bed.

"We were not creating clear-cut chances but we had most of the ball and played most of the game in their half and they didn't look as if they were going to trouble us.

"I'm not sure if the goalie could have got the corner that led to their goal and I don't think it was corner in the first place but somebody has got a free header.

"I spend hours and hours talking about marking from corners so when we concede from a corner it is like pulling out my teeth with no anaesthetic and it will cost us promotion if we carry on doing it."

A 73rd-minute goal from Charles Ademeno denies promotion-chasing Wrexham three points at the Racecourse.

A very poor result for Wrexham who were fortunate to get a point in the end as it was definitely a game of two halves. Wrexham started brightly and a good cross and from the right running towards the Eric Roberts stand which is now the home end saw Wrexham take the lead as early as the 6th minute when Ryan Flynn put the ball in the net. To be fair to Salisbury they never give up and they went in at the break only losing 1-0.

2nd half started brightly and an awful miss by Mike Williams who somehow ended up furthest man forward when after a bit of a scramble the away team pushed out but the ball came back in over the defence and dropped invitingly for Mike Williams, despite protests that he was offside, and all he had to do was surely just guide the ball in, but from less than 6 yards out he managed to hit the ball high over the bar. It was a miss that was to prove costly. After what looked like an innocent tackle between Marc Williams and the Salisbury goalkeeper Marc Williams was then stretchered off and on came Patrick Suffo who showed some nice touches, even doing a nutmeg on one of their players and when he was in the game showed the class that is obviously still there but there were just too few of these moments as Salisbury piled the pressure on which paid dividends after a Salisbury corner which Gavin Ward who at first seemed to have saved it but he only managed to parry it into the back of his own net.

That`s now 4 games without a win and the tension is starting to show at The Racecourse as the games get less and less.

Jonathan Brown who had another excellent game and was a constant threat down the right hand side as Salisbury struggled to cope with him. Another player who had a good game and does look real class was Curtis who is surely destined for better things ahead of him. McClusky came on as a sub in the 79th minute and did look good for the small time he was on the pitch but we are lacking a bit of pace up front and that is why we are not finishing teams off at present and allowing them back in the game because like I said the first half was all Wrexham and a bit of pace up front would surely have seen us get a couple more goals and go on to win the match comfortably in the 2nd half, but their confidence grows and you can feel the tenison on the pitch in the stands.
Time to buy a striker or two with a bit of pace must be Dean Saunder`s priority now before we paly again which only gives the manager two and a half days to sort something out but if anyone can do it, then Dean Saunders can.

WREXHAM were left to rue missed chances as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Salisbury City at The Racecourse.

But despite failing to make the most of their numerous scoring opportunities, Wrexham actually climbed into the play-offs as a result of the point.

On-loan winger Ryan Flynn gave Wrexham a sixth minute lead when Jon Brown helped on a Marc Williams cross.

But an unmarked Charles Ademeno headed past Ward from six yards as Salisbury equalised on 73 minutes.

Ebbsfleet 3-1 Wrexham

Luke Moore and John Martin struck late goals to beat Wrexham 3-1 in a quarter-final replay to send holders Ebbsfleet into the FA Trophy semi-final.

Jefferson Louis had given Wrexham the lead with his 17th goal of the season when he capitalised on Sacha Opinel's weak back-header just after half-time.

But Giuseppe Sole levelled immediately for Ebbsfleet before Moore had a 60th minute penalty saved by Gavin Ward.

Moore's 75th minute shot, though, did beat Ward and Martin secured the win.

Ebbsfleet now face Stevenage Borough in a two-legged semi-final and the first-leg will be played on 14 March.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said: "I am very disappointed but Ebbsfleet deserved to win.

"It was a very even game, we scored a goal and then we got what we deserved and they could have scored more than their three goals.

"I couldn't believe some of the goals that we conceded, we just didn't play as we didn't have enough people who performed to their capabilities.

"We have to react to this punch on the chin, we've had a kick in the teeth so we must roll our sleeves up and come back from this defeat."
